We take off a few Sundays each year for two reasons. The first is that we encourage people to use these long weekends to join what God is doing in the lives of their friends by meeting with them and/or going away with them. The second reason is that small churches are famous for burning out volunteers. Each summer, we dial things down, and part of that is taking a few Sundays off.
